Beyond the visible

My photography portrays monumental moments and natural forces as moving sculptures in time. To explore new perspectives on ecological, social and intercultural structures while people (try to) expand a collective consciousness.

My interaction with people and developments on site (and in the studio) is based on open observation. I give room for stories to unfold inside out, by listening honestly, reconstructing layers and navigating with a refined consciousness.

A documentary photographer might represent a situation in a logical way, whereas I reveal deeper insights with an experimental way of working. My work reflects on the way people perceive social and ecological structures, while creating a new point of view. I use analogue photography as an intuitive, conceptual and interactive approach to reconstruct daily life sceneries related to global affairs such as nature conservation, eco-agriculture, recycling/waste and fair trade. Dialogue and physical boundaries inspire me to find new ideas and solutions.

Dreamlike and wondrous representations of sustainable issues, natural resources and equal North-South relationships, could be used as a starting point for change. I’m portraying and molding actualities to add dimensions to collective imagery and to question what we frame as real. By means of a transparent way of working, in which dream and reality relate to each another and where psychology, spirituality and science are intertwined. By focusing on energy behind matter I’m creating photography works beyond the visible.
